remembering resistance  in  india

We're developing a new aspect of the Remembering Resistance project to explore the ideas of people, power, and place in India.
The project is guided by three principles:

COLLABORATIVE

Picture
Remembering Resistance is organic and collaborative. We're starting slowly, building a network of academics, activists, artists and community organisations in India and the UK to explore the ideas Remembering Resistance is concerned with to see where it takes us.

CREATIVE

Picture
As the network develops, we
want to experiment with creative ways of developing and testing ideas. The ambition is to think differently about how protest, power, and place interact in contemporary India in ways that help reduce conflict and increase cooperation.

TRANSDISCIPLINARY

Picture
The project is transdisciplinary and participatory. It is a space where knowledge from different disciplines collides with expertise rooted in lived experience, community knowledge, and artistic inspiration and pursues what emerges from these interactions.

Workshop

In July 2018 we held a workshop at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi which brought together around 20 academics, doctoral students, and creatives interested in place-protest relations to explore ideas, share insights, and build a vision for the project's future. The day was filled with powerful and insightful discussion which revealed the complex nature of protest dynamics in India. We're looking forward to continuing these conversations over the coming months & years.

NETWORK  DEVELOPMENT

Picture

We're building a network of people who share an interest in protest, power, and place so we can discuss ideas and develop a vision for the project in India.

If you're interested in being involved, get in touch and we'll organise a time to speak.

If you want to be involved, we'd love to hear from you so get in touch.
